Lyn McCann: May 11, 1958 – May 27, 2014

Last Tuesday, my good friend Lyn McCann passed away all too soon, at the age of only fifty-three. Lyn was a U2 fan of profound proportions. She was also a generous, kind-hearted and caring woman with a fine sense of humor. Rising above many life challenges, Lyn became an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege to know her and we will all miss her smile, her optimism, and her deep love and appreciation of life.

“It’s a beautiful day. The sky falls, and you feel like it’s a beautiful day. It’s a beautiful day. Don’t let it get away. Touch me, take me to that other place. Teach me. I know I’m not a hopeless case. See the world in green and blue, see China right in front of you, see the canyons broken by clouds, see the tuna fleets clearing the sea out. See the Beduoin fires at night, see the oil fields at first light. And see the bird with the leaf in her mouth. After the flood all the colors came out. ” —U2, Beautiful Day

“Sleep, sleep tonight

And may your dreams be realised.

If the thunder cloud passes rain

So let it rain, rain down on me.” U2, MLK
